Within the project, one of the key roles is that of the accompanying person, the person responsible for supporting the group during the mobility experience, providing emotional and practical support throughout their time abroad.
Below, we share the testimony of Rosa, who accompanied the Spanish group departing from Zaragoza to the city of Coimbra in Portugal.

“My experience as an accompanying person in the EU Move project was a very positive and enriching experience. I had the oportunity to travel with a group of young people who went abroad to do their internships for a period of 21 days. The main objective of my trip was to accompany and support the group during the stay and make sure that everything was going well.

During the first days, I helped the guys to adapt to their new enviroment and to the new city. For some of them, it was their first experience living abroad, so they were a little nervous and had many questions. I helped them with practical things, such as public transport, finding their way around the city and communicating with the people in their workplaces.

I also visited the companies where they were doing their internships and talked with their tutors to know how the young people were adapting to their jobs.

It was very interesting to see how they were learning new skills and becoming more independent every day. I think that these kind of experiences are very important for young people because they can improve not only their professional skills, but also their personal skills.

For me, being part of this project was also a great learning experience. I had the opportunity to meet new people, discover a different culture and work with other professionals. I also learned how important it is to be flexible and solve problems when you are in a different country. Apart from these, I also travelled to different cities around Portugal with the group.

After 21 days, I could see that the persons had grown in confidence and independence. I am very gratefull to have been part of this experience, and I would be happy to participate in another EU Move project in the future!
